Kushamiri is a Swahili word meaning “to flourish, thrive, and increase.” At Kushamiri Africa Foundation, we believe that every child in Africa deserves the opportunity to flourish.
We are a grassroots nonprofit organization committed to restoring hope, dignity, and economic self-sufficiency for widows, orphans, and vulnerable communities across Africa. Our mission is to empower children and families affected by extreme poverty, conflict, and neglect through sustainable, community-driven solutions.
We support children to stay in school by covering school fees, uniforms, and essential supplies—especially for girls who are at risk of early marriage or dropping out.
We provide food, hygiene items, menstrual care kits, and access to medical services to help children live healthy, dignified lives.
We equip caregivers with income-generating opportunities to build long-term self-reliance.
Bright Future for Girls is a grassroots initiative working to end child marriage and keep girls in school across Africa. We provide resources to help girls stay in school and build a better future.
“
Before Kushamiri found me, I had no one. I had lost my parents to war, and every day was a struggle to survive. Today, I’m back in school, I get regular meals, and I’ve learned that God hasn’t forgotten me. Kushamiri gave me a second chance to dream again.
“
Working with Kushamiri Africa Foundation has transformed our school. Their support keeps girls in class who would otherwise be forced into early marriages. They’re not just changing lives—they’re changing communities.
“
What sets Kushamiri apart is their deep compassion and unwavering faith. They care for the whole child—body, mind, and spirit. Being part of their work has strengthened my own walk with Christ and given me purpose.
At Kushamiri Africa Foundation, we believe in long-term solutions to hunger and poverty. One of our most ambitious initiatives is our upcoming 500-hectare farm project—a bold step toward empowering communities, creating local jobs, and ensuring food security in Uganda and across East Africa.
Teaching sustainable agriculture, business skills, and self-reliance.
50% of the harvest will go directly to feed the hungry—orphans, widows, and families affected by war and poverty.
The remaining 50% will be sold to support our ministry, allowing us to move toward financial self-sustainability and reduce long-term dependency on external donations.
In Kushamiri Africa Foundation, we’ve taken the first steps in planning and preparation, and we are praying for a strong first harvest. But there’s more work ahead. To make this vision a reality, we need help with:
Every gift—large or small—brings us one step closer to beating hunger and ending dependency. Perhaps your church, small group, or business can partner with us in this mission.
Together, we can grow food—and grow futures.
We help poor people to break the cycle of poverty through education, build healthcare systems in remote areas to help poor people to stay healthier.
